2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name, and church name. You may also provide optional profile details such as your typical sermon length, default preaching style, preaching tone, audience type, and audience age range.

Sermon Content

When you submit a message for analysis, we collect the audio file you upload or the YouTube/Facebook video URL you provide. We also collect any associated metadata you enter, including sermon title, date preached, scripture reference, series name, message type, preaching style, audience type, and audience age range. Audio files are stored securely and used solely for transcription and analysis.

Beliefs and Doctrinal Information

You may optionally provide a link to your church's statement of beliefs or enter beliefs text directly. This information is used solely to personalize your coaching feedback and is never shared publicly.

Payment Information

We use Stripe to process payments. Your payment details (credit card number, billing address) are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription details to manage your account.

Automatically Collected Information

When you use our service, we may automatically collect device information, browser type, IP address, and usage data such as pages visited and features used.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our sermon analysis service
• Transcribe your audio and generate AI-powered coaching feedback, pillar scores, highlighted moments, and recommendations
• Personalize your feedback based on your preaching context, audience, and beliefs
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send you transactional emails such as analysis completion notifications
• Send optional email notifications including weekly summaries (which you can disable in settings)
• Monitor and enforce usage limits based on your subscription plan
• Improve our AI models and analysis quality

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Preach Better:

• Supabase — Authentication, database hosting, and file storage. Your account data, sermon records, and uploaded audio files are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• OpenAI — Audio transcription and AI-powered sermon analysis. Your sermon audio and transcripts are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their API data usage policies.
• Anthropic — AI-powered sermon analysis and coaching feedback generation. Sermon transcripts may be sent to Anthropic for processing.
• Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management. Your billing information is handled directly by Stripe.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and sermon analysis data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded audio files are retained to enable features such as timestamped moment playback. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and sermon data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Your sermon content is only accessible to your account. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Access and update your profile information at any time through your account settings
• Manage email preferences including analysis completion notifications and weekly summaries in your notification settings
• Delete your sermons and associated analysis data at any time from your dashboard
• Cancel your subscription at any time through the billing settings or Stripe customer portal
• Request account deletion by contacting us at support@preachbetter.app

8. Children's Privacy

Preach Better is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Preach Better after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
